Introducing the 9Tripod Pico Pi V2.0: The Raspberry Pi 4 Form Factor SBC with Rockchip RK3588S SoC

 9Tripod announced the release of the 9Tripod Pico Pi V2.0 SBC, a compact and powerful board that features the Rockchip RK3588S SoC in a Raspberry Pi 4 form factor.

The 9Tripod Pico Pi V2.0 is a new Single Board Computer (SBC) that features the Rockchip RK3588S System-on-a-Chip (SoC). The octa-core CPU boasts 4x Cortex-A76 cores that can run at speeds of up to 2.2-2.4 GHz and 4x Cortex-A55 cores that can reach speeds of up to 1.8 GHz. The GPU, an Arm Mali-G610, supports OpenGL ES 3.2, OpenCL 2.2, and Vulkan 1.2. The VPU is capable of 8Kp60 video decoding for H.265/AVS2/VP9/H.264/AV1 codecs and 8Kp30 H.265/H.264 video encoding. The AI accelerator, a 6 TOPS NPU, provides powerful artificial intelligence capabilities.

The system memory is available in 1GB, 2GB, 4GB, 8GB, 16GB, or 32GB LPDDR4x, and the storage options include a MicroSD card socket or an optional eMMC 5.1 flash module connector that can be used to add 4GB, 8GB, 16GB, 32GB, 64GB, or 128GB of storage. The video output options include a micro HDMI 2.1 port, a DisplayPort via USB Type-C port, and a 4-lane MIPI DSI connector. The MIPI CSI connector (4-lane or 2x 2-lane) provides a camera interface, and the 3.5mm earphone jack provides audio output.

The networking options include a Gigabit Ethernet RJ45 port and a dual-band WiFi and Bluetooth 5.0 module. The USB options include 2x USB 3.0 Type-A ports, 2x USB 2.0 Type-A ports, and 1x USB Type-C port. The 40-pin Raspberry Pi-compatible GPIO header provides expansion options, and a 4-pin debug connector is available for debugging. The board also includes power, recovery, reset, and boot buttons, a power LED, a user LED, an RTC battery connector, and a 5V/3A power supply via the USB Type-C port. The dimensions of the 9Tripod Pico Pi V2.0 are 85 x 56mm, making it compatible with the Raspberry Pi 4 form factor.
